Actually, the concert was supposed to take place up at the castle, but unfortunately the town hall square wasn’t really an equivalent substitute. Well, the weather wouldn’t have been any better up there either… But that didn’t really detract from the concert: What a rock voice! You could almost believe she was the reincarnation of Tina Turner — just a little prettier and smaller, but with just as much power and enthusiasm for what she was doing. And the band around her was no less impressive. The guitarist had injured his hand shortly beforehand and still rocked out as if nothing had happened.
It’s also really nice how she introduces her fellow musicians and includes them in the show. Especially great was the fact that she played so many of her older songs, particularly the duet “I Belong to You”, in which the backstage singer stepped in for Eros. And the opening act, Casey McQuillen, also had a voice that deserves a mention.
